Remembrance Day

On Friday the 11th November 2016, Eon and myself (Mac) were invited to Gatwick airport to help on the poppy collecting table. Eon, being the standard bearer for the HMS Glamorgan association, brought along the his standard and at 11 o'clock the Standard was paraded and dipped.

The 2 minutes silence was impeccably observed with the whole airport and aircraft pausing to pay their respects.

War and Peace Show 2016

Tuesday July 19, 2016 - Saturday July 23, 2016
Folkstone Racecourse, Stone street, Nr Hythe, Kent CT21 4HX (map

Hi Guys

SAMA82 Southeast will be attending this years War n Peace show. This years event is again being held at the old RAF station of Westenhanger or more recently the old Folkstone race course.

Our association will be present for the duration of the show.  To this end I will need help with manning the SAMA82 marquee.  If you can spare a day or two to help please do not hesitate contact me

This is a big event with a lot of visitors from all over the world who want to meet veterans and who are genuinely interested in what you did during the conflict, it also helps keep it in the public domain so that those that have made the ultimate sacrificed are never forgotten.

last year, the show was a great success for us. We had a good turn out of veterans, not only for the drumhead but as visitors and quite a few came along to help. I would like this years show to be as successful as last so I hope to see you there.

As more details come to light I will post them not only on this website but www.sama82.org.uk as well.
